Who would buy a 2DS for $140 if it existed?

Basically a 3DS without the 3D feature.

I think I would, probably.

Why not just buy a DS? It's called 3DS because of the 3D and you can already turn it off.

You mean a regular DS? You can get a brand new DS Lite for $100.

Obviously he meant the equivalent of a 3DS with the 3D depth slider always turned all the way down. That is, it has the improved graphics of the 3DS and all the games (and backwards compatibility) of the DS, but no option for the stereoscopic 3D.

As for me, I don't know...The $170 price tag definitely looks appealing, and I might sometimes regret not paying the extra $30 for a few times where I think the 3D would look really cool.

ITT: A 3DS is a DS with 3D.

In a heartbeat I would. I don't like paying a dime for 3D technology.
