Guys, don't you see what Nintendo is doing? (loophole related)

You really think they didn't forsee a bunch of people who are willing to exploit a loophole to get games that have been available for over two decades? Let's all get real for a second here. If they cared that much, they would have just changed the date to where if you didn't already own a 3DS and access the e-shop by the time of announcement you're **** out of luck. Think about this...

- Some stupid kid decides it would be cool to finally pick up a 3DS now that the price is dropping and he can get 20 free games. He goes to the store, exploits the loophole, walks away with a $170 3DS and the ability to download the games...

- The games become available, the kid downloads them... aaaaaaaand? Where does Nintendo lose out? Nowhere! The price of the 20 games doesn't even come close to the price the kid already paid for the system itself. Plus all the games he's sure to pick up in the future. They are all downloadable so no extra costs there. Not to mention they won't all be available until the end of the year.

The 20 games are bait. Incentive to lure people in. Even if they use this supposed loophole, the console was coming down in price anyway. Word of mouth is now going around. So between the free games and the price drop, the systems are going to fly off the shelves. No matter what, Nintendo is laughing all the way to the bank and I say more power to them.

Precisely. They lose absolutely nothing from people getting free downloadable games. But they gain tons from everyone buying a brand new 3DS to play them.

I wonder how many people really realize that they're still giving Nintendo $250 by taking advantage of price-matching.

The retailers are the ones suffering.

Nintendo already got their money from the retailers.

I'll defend Nintendo with every fiber of my being in most situations. If I can tell they're gonna profit from this, then some people must be pretty adamant. Like a previous poster said, only retailers will suffer. Not Nintendo's problem.
