Doesn't Nintendo have a ton of money from the Wii?

They did have a ton of cash but they spent it on the launch of 3DS and preparing for Wii U

So uh...there's a lot of space left in your ass after you removed that information huh? Come on now, Nintendo had tens of billions of dollars in profits to sit on, they barely scratched that.

The same people who are saying Nintendo will go software-only or bankrupt are the same people who are saying PC gaming is dying.

Just people talking out of their ass.

Look who's talking. Nintendo doesn't have tens of billions. They are solely a video game company and so they don't make that much money and they are much more likely to fail from a bad console than Sony or Microsoft. And whatever they made it was probably making up for the massive failure that was the Gamecube and the much lesser failure N64. Now they are probably running on the profits of the 3DS. If it continues to not sell well and the Wii U does horrible like everybody thinks, then they very well could go bankrupt.

Isn't the U.S. the richest country in the world? How could we be having economic problems and be in a giant recession?

Umm...Nintendo's sitting on 16-19 billion dollars...They are not even close to bankrupt. If you think Big N is in trouble, don't look at Sony's recent postings

Yep. The Playstation 3 is profitable now and they actually make a good chunk of profit. Everything else is struggling in this bad economy though. Laptops, cameras, TVs, etc...

Sony /= Nintendo. Nintendo is less impacted by the economy, because the gaming industry is on of the few things that are still doing well. Everything besides the PS3 is doing horrible. And if the Wii U and 3DS are horrible then they will be in trouble again like they were after the Gamecube.
