Didn't see a thread about this and i have an opinion so here it goes. Nintendo dun goofed with the 3DS. So what happens after they lose a whole lot of money on it. The president of the company takes a 50% pay cut to help financial costs as well as a reduction in bonus' earned. He isn't the only only one either. This is how a struggling company should act. *gives shifty eyes towards America.* and so Iwata and others i tip my hat to you and gets off soap box.* Just sayin is all.

Thank you for creating an entirely new topic for this, rather than posting in an already existing thread. Truly you are the best poster among all of GameFAQS.

Do you seriously think he did this as some sort of noble act?

LOL

Do you know anything about business?

This was done as a ploy to maintain investor confidence or as the article specially says "to show our sincere attitude and to fulfill our responsibility."

Nintendo is a publicly traded company, and not only are their unit sales down for the 3DS and Wii, but their software sales are also down.

Because of this, the stock price has dropped to 19 which is as low as it has been during the Wii era. It hasn't been that low since before the Wii launched.

There was nothing noble about this, it was all about maintaining investor confidence so they don't lose more money. Because remember execs like Iwata have more money tied up in the stock of the company than his actual salary.

Also if the stock price continues to fall, it puts them in a position were the can experience a hostel takeover.

Remember it wasn't long ago that it was rumored Apple would attempt to buy Nintendo, and they have more money than the U.S. government lol
