No one is taking a "hit" from the loophole. The price is going to drop the same amount whether anyone does it or not, and the games are a free download.

Again, how are they losing money? They have still made $170 from the consumer in the end - the same amount as if the sale was made on or after August 12.

The only "loss" here is in Nintendo's bandwidth expenses. And even then, bandwidth is dirt cheap these days.

You do realize that the store doesn't get the 3DS for free right?

Buying before the drop, the retailers have to compensate the around $230 price for the 3DS. Going in and taking $80 from them, they now have a loss. With you getting the $90+ worth of games from Nintendo, who think you paid the $250... see where we're coming from thinking it's wrong? They shouldn't be paying for your system.

What if Nintendo sold the 3DS to stores for 170? Lol, probably impossible, but if it did it would be kinda funny.
