I remember it, I had lots of fun when I was a child, I didn't have as much fun on the DS though.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep --not screaming, like the passengers in his car. I said ass

This. The forced stylus/mic controls didn't help either...
Still a fun game, though.

The DS version butchered the 64 version. I hope that if they remake it again the do it CORRECTLY.

What the hell guys? When talking about Diddy Kong Racing you don't talk about the DS version. That version didn't exist, it never happened, figments of your imagination, etc.

I agree with the majority so far. Diddy kong racing on the 64 was a classic. The DS remake did not do the original justice. I'm not sure why Rare screwed it up, but what's done is done.

I never could beat that damn dragon.

I enjoyed that game as a kid but now it's not so fun for me.

The DS version is great. It has 4 new tracks, Dixie Kong, some of the music was extended, and up to 6 player online multiplayer.

DKR is one of the best games on N64 and certainly among my favourite racing games of all time.

I never could beat that damn dragon.

Are you kidding me? The Dragon is actually one of the easiest bosses to beat....well for me at least. I used to have loads of trouble beating the octopus but after playing the game so many times I'm not having trouble with any boss anymore :P

The DS version is great. It has 4 new tracks, Dixie Kong, some of the music was extended, and up to 6 player online multiplayer.

Here's my beef with the DS version:
- They changed the way the vehicles handle, this completely changed the angles at which you start a power slide and how you go around turns. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but the original was so great because of it's gameplay and when you change that you throw away the reason why the game was so great in the first place.

All Rare had to do was just keep the game intact but they just had to go and mess with the controls and gameplay mechanics. The game plays like a turd as a result and should never be mentioned again from this moment on.
