Why is the 3DS earphone sound so low?

So I like using head/ear phones. Some like ear buds. But I've tried all of them, the sound is almost non-existant. I've not seen any topics on this, so I'm hoping that something was found, but does anyone know why the sound is so low with headphones plugged in?

Mainly an issue on whoever dealt with the volume, the Captain America trailer couldn't be heard at max volume but Excitebike will deafen you if you have headphones at max...

Well when coming from the 3DS speakers, it's normally fine, but playing 3DS Games and DS Games, I could barely hear anything. My mom swears she can't hear her re:Coded game at all.

skullcandy's inkd seem to amplify overall volume on any device to sound louder. also if u havent done so, change your sound setting to stereo, it will sound louder.

The volume is something that Nintendo SERIOUSLY needs to improve.
