It seems like Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS is actually the official name for it

I'm cool with this. All I care about is the gameplay.

Keeping the original name sake and actually putting the number on it is a good sign. It means the makers are actually proud of putting this up as the 7th Mario Kart.

Strange how they decided to use a numeral sequence this time around. I was expecting Mario Kart 3D or MK3DS. It works. I wish more people would just stick to this type of naming titles. It's like Rocky Balboa...why didn't they just call it Rocky VI!?

It's been the official name since they first announced that it was called Mario Kart 7.

I guess the arcade versions are left out of the series chronology...
