sign!

When I first heard about the DS, I was excited because it was the first Nintendo portable to have as many buttons as the SNES, and the second screen.
When I first sa the 3DS, I liked the circle pad, the widescreen for the top screen, and the 3D.

Not even close, the DS was an amazing system.

The 3DS is more of a gimmick then anything in its current state.

Once it gets a decent library of games I am sure the 3DS will be worth it, but right now the only reason I'm getting one is because of the ambassador program...

This topic is about first impressions, keep that in mind.

i'm indifferent.

i bought my ds and 3ds basically the same way.

was out in the city, went into a department store browsing stuff.
saw a (3)ds, figured why not, and went and bought one.

never paid attention to any ads, commericals, reviews or hype. it's just something that happened to be there and i bought it.

First impression? Yeah I was VERY excited, probably even more so then the DS...

But in hindsight....

I wasn't too excited for the 3DS. I was only excited for the DS when I got to play my friend's.

At first, I thought the 3DS was yet ANOTHER DS model. Just with 3D, so I decided I'd skip it.

Just like with the DS, I was excited to get a 3DS when I saw what it can do. And the games it has/will have.

*sign* I was young and broke. And, not all that into my gameboy so I didn't get more hyped until after my brother got his.

I was jazzed about the DS's wifi, but I was jazzed about the 3DS's wifi. Way more excited for 3D and circle pad than for the touch screen and additional buttons.

Signed.

The DS looked like an embarrassing attempt to throw in a load of cheap features to compete with the more powerful PSP, the only interesting thing was the touch screen which I knew would be excellent.

The 3DS on the other hand looked amazing, actually adopting industry standards like expandable memory and a widescreen as well as 3D!

For the record I love both consoles now.
