I think they should. It would benefit from everything:
1) more profit for the company, less cost for the consumer,
2) the upper screen would be larger which means you'd enjoy your games more,
3) a XL version would be possible,
4) less complaints about the 3D causing problems,
5) the company would distract the public from the 3DS price-drop/no games mess and elude with the same recipe but different results.

No it wouldn't. --- Sent from my 3DS Now playing: Atelier Iris 3, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

No. That's a lot of speculation. --- I hate affirmation threads and I'm not interested in knowing who agrees with me.

That would cost them R&D dollars... wasted potential when the current model has an OFF switch. --- "the hell!?"

They do have a no-3D version. It's called "turn the slider switch all the way off".
Making an entirely new handheld without the feature would be superfluous. It would probably also lose them money. Dividing your own market like that is never a smart thing to do. --- Religion is like spaghetti: either stiff and fragile, or wet and limp.

3DS: 2D Edition. I don't think it would market well. --- http://i51.tinypic.com/a0gnys.png <3 Splash Woman

Vita has 3G and non-3G models as well. I don't see how this wouldn't be feasible. --- http://www.erepublik.com/en/referrer/Blick+Winkle

Why? It already has a button slider to turn it off/ or you could do it through parental controls and turn it completely off if you wanted. --- I support Operation Rainfall!( A mission to make Nintendo localize notable games, such as Xenoblade, the Last Story, and Pandora's Tower!)
