Does Updated Versions of the Exclusive Games mean 3D Versions?

So on the Notifications Page for the 3DS it now mentions the Ambassador Program. It states that the ambassadors get such and such games free. So my question is this: If I download Super Mario Bros. for free as part of the plan, and later they release 3D Classics:Super Mario Bros. will this be a free update, or a separate game game altogether?

Or maybe they'll fix something about the emulation that doesn't look quite right. I remember reading they were doing stuff like that with Game Boy games on the VC for instance stuff like if something blinks in and out rapidly it produces a very different effect on a 3DS screen than it did on a Game Boy screen due to the response time of the display and stuff.
