im thinking of buying some Dsiware games for my 3DS,and want to know,does the Slide pad works on DSiware games?

yes, the slide pad works well on DSIware games. you still only have 8 possible directions but using the slide pad is more comfortable than a D-pad.

You can use it like a D-Pad in that it's not analog control, but 8-way directional.

Yep, you can use it, but it will only register the eight directions supported by the D-pad.
