Since the main developers for the company have left the company in 2007 to pursue other things in life the question I have in mind and I'm sure others have thought of this too. How come they have not sold or given their IP to Nintendo or even Retro? I'm positive one of the two would make great use out of the game series they have made and we can finally get some proper Banjo and Conker games back on these new gen systems. --- It all starts with this, a jewel containing the ultimate power. -Shadow the Hedgehog
Because all of the characters, concepts, music, artwork, and ideas belong to the company, not the individuals.
They left the company and they left their franchises with it. Banjo, Conker, Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata, Killer Instinct, Sabreman, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Mr Pants, etc all belong to Microsoft. --- 3DS Friend Code: 2621-2634-3009 http://www.iceruby.com/sonicadvance3/Sonic%203DS.png
The thing is they arent doing anything with those game series that wouldnt it be wise for the company as a whole sell their IP to someone here at Nintendo (whether it be 1st or 2nd party) to handle the games so they get some use out of them. The way I see it those games are never gonna see the light of day and its rotting away in a metaphorical prison.
Same thing can be said about Megaman with how Capcom is treating it. --- It all starts with this, a jewel containing the ultimate power. -Shadow the Hedgehog
Probably because Microsoft would never sell off those IPs to Nintendo....Except maybe Jet Force Gemini... --- www.brokencontrollers.com My dragon egg is dead. Thanks guys. Also, blue cheese is evil and the creator should be flogged.
IIRC most of the people in the golden days of Rare left that company a hell of along time ago, like not long after Microsoft bought the company. --- http://i.imgur.com/X871v.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Cwrha.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9Gf4s.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WkTHu.jpg
