Does the 3DS have the hardware to run N64 game?

The only issue would be the amount of buttons but is the 3DS "powerful" enough to run the games?

I hope they re-release the first Paper Mario eventually but I don't think they'd bother with a remake of that one seeing as though the graphics wouldn't really be changed. It's available for the Wii but I don't have one.

Probably.

One day, Nintendo decided to put Mario into the world of Metroid. Alas, he was no match for the mighty Geemer.

It is but it's a button thing which leads to only a couple options:

Touchscreen built the improve the use of N64 controls
Remakes

Mapping would not work in this situation since you only have the D-Pad to map the last 5 buttons, and Touchscreen they would have to make it decent looking and it would also require the N64 games to be their own VC, the work alone trying to get the N64 Wii VC titles and adding these features would take a while and I think they are better off adding 3D

They're making a new Paper mario, why would you want an old one?

It would be awesome if they would add N64 titles to the classics section. 3DS is completely able to run them.

It's a lot better than half ass "remaking" titles that don't really need much of an update in the first place.

you can count on 1 hand how many 64 games used all 9 buttons for quick actions. mapping certain buttons to the touch screen would work.

There's gonna be a new Luigi's Mansion why would you want the old one? There's gonna be a new Final Fantasy why would you want an old one? There's gonna be a new Legend of Zelda why would anyone buy an old one?

The hell kind of question is that? Do you even bother playing any old games or do you no longer wish to play them ever again once a sequel is out?

The DS was "powerful" enough to run n64 level games.

The 3DS is well past that power wise and more on the lines of what the Wii can accomplish, go compare Super Street fighter 4, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Resident Evil Mercenaries and Zelda OOT to the n64 library of games, or even gamecube.

Whether we see n64 emulator for VC on 3DS though is another thing entirely.

Why would you want a remake of the original Paper Mario? That game is near perfect. All they could do is update the graphics by improving the colors and making less jagged sprites. I'd rather have the new Paper Mario that is coming out.

Anyway, the 3DS can easily run a N64 game. Heck, the DS could run a N46 game.

I can't wait for Super Mario 3D, Mario Kart 3D, Paper Mario 3D, Luigi's Mansion 2,
Kid Icarus: Uprising, Kirby Mass Attack, Kirby Wii, and Skyward Sword!
