3DS was stolen, any way to track it down by WiFi ot Serial Number?

Basically, 3DS was stolen, tragic news.I'm just wondering if theres any way to track the thing down.

I've got the serial number, can you track it by the IP if you went online, or does the street pass have a unique code per unit or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, but I've a feeling the answer will be no.

For a system that's supposedly failing, people sure like to steal 3DS'.

He took it from a little kid and is asking us if the angry soccer mom could track him down through the 3DS. ;P (j/k)

You can report the serial number to the police, and you can contact nintendo with the serial number and see if they'll tell you if it connects to the eshop or something like that, since the account is tied to the hardware.

I'm prett sure it doesn't have GPS...
I mean my zune and a bunch of other stuff...even 360 got stolen

and yet they couldn't track if it was connected online :-/...BS if you ask me

Serial number can be tracked only if its sold to a pawn shop

easy solution. Go buy another 3ds... Then retrace your steps... Streetpass yourself... Win
