Nintendo 3DS customers who performed the latest system update or connected to the Nintendo eShop before 11;59om Eastern time on August 11, 2011 were automatically registered in the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program.
During the week of August 15th, Nintendo will launch a website that will allow customers to enter their Nintendo 3DS serial number to check their Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program eligibility. Once the website is live, you will receive a message with the link.
Starting September 1st, 2011, Ambassadors will be able to download 10 NES Virtual Console games at no charge from the Nintendo eShop. By the end of 2011, Nintendo will also provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. To download these gams, Ambassadors will need to connect to the Nintendo eShop. We will be announcing more information and instructions for how to download them soon.
Just got this message a little bit ago, and thought I'd spread the word.
wow. i thought we reached the limit of them trying to please us for now. this is something i was hoping for since i'm paranoid and have bad luck with promotions like this. i'm almost loving nintendo like i did back in the n64 days!
on the dutch nintendo website they also mentioned you can use that page to manually register as ambassador if you have either a friendcode or a receipt to prove you bought your 3ds before the price drop.
Metarius6 posted... On an unrelated note, I found it funny how the bottom of the message has a note saying "wireless broadband internet access required" when you have to be on the eshop to read said message.
It was an asterisk to a point within the message, informing users that they would have to be connected to wireless broadband internet in order to download the games starting September 1st. So really, the fact that you have to be online to read that message right now has no bearing on the point they were making. It's common sense still, yeah, but not in the way you're pointing out.
