Let's say my 3DS has a defect, and I return it to Nintendo and they replace it

From my experience with Nintendo customer returns. You'll be lucky if you don't get back someone else's used system. But no they won't switch the colors for you.

From my experience with Nintendo customer service, if you don't get your original one fixed they'll make a brand new one for you to the same specifications, including color.

Not really "scam", my 3DS does indeed have a defect. I was just wondering if I could get a sweet pink 3DS out of it
