whos the idiot that rates everything a five star in the eshop

#1queirotacobellPosted 9/22/2011 5:54:48 AM
wow looking at the eshop everything is between 4-5 stars. the lowest i saw was one three star. according to this logic, everything in the eshop is worth buying by ds owners.

Probably has something to do with people reviewing games five seconds into them...

Maybe the majority of people bought the games because they knew what to expect from them, as opposed to buying them based on the other ratings and therefore weren't disappointed. Either that or an over-zealous employee with an itchy stylus.

I find this strange too.

Now 5 stars = great game
4 1/2 starts = ok game
4 stars and below = crap game

3 stars = Good
2 stars = Okay
1 star = Terrible

I would prefer if I can give no stars at all.

hm maybe because most people who buy a game usually know they will enjoy it a lot. and haters don't buy it and therefore cant rate it. its quite simple logic
#9KittyPuppyPosted 9/22/2011 9:16:25 AM
Yeah unfortunately on both PSN and eshop I find the user ratings completely unreliable. Seeing something like Monkey Ball get like 4 stars is just madness. I don't think anyone wants to admit they own a less than perfect game. Say what you want about professional reviewers but at least they rate things between 1 and 9 sometimes.

I've noticed this phenomenon on iTunes too. It is extremely rare to find an album with less than a four-star rating, and you don't even have to have bought it to rate it. As best as I can figure, people don't ever bother spending time with the ratings unless they REALLY like it, or they're trolls giving one star just because they hate the artist.
