Have you ever seen a stretched GB game? It's not exactly a pretty thing.

good point... but maybe stretching a GB game to fullscreen might make it really fugly

like playing a old NES games on a widescreen tv

Aspect ratio is being kept the same, the GBA had a wider screen than the GB and GBC.

well the GBA games arent full screen but almost full screen
and if you recall when you put a Game Boy or Gameboy Color game in a GBA you had the option to stretch it by pressing the L or R buttons

yeah to some people but i liked when the games took up the whole screen and it didnt look too awful to me

now DS games on the other hand have a reason not to be stretched, because a lot of them the top screen needs to be even with the bottom or else it would be very confusing,

VC games on the other hand only use one screen

I find few things more despicable than not minding a horizontally stretched image. I am almost dead serious.

Some GB/GBC games looked fine stretched out. Dragon Quest 3 and Blaster Master come to mind and I think it's due to the developers resizing the old NES down to Game Boy levels.
