Has the street pass system succeeded in making you take your 3DS out with you?

broken poll

Yeah! I used to take my portables with me, but now with StreetPass, I leave mine home! Blargh!

Nah, I usually have a portable with me anyway. Used to be my DSLite, then either DSLite or PSP, now mostly 3DS and never my Vita.

No one here takes it out with him as it's against our mindset to not bring electronics outside just for the sake of bringing it outside (a phone you can take outside since you can call or listen music while still doing whatever you're doing. A handheld you don't take outside here as you can't properly use it while walking, and while you can of course go and sit somewhere, we always go outside to do "outside stuff" rather than just playing one's electronics and such. Backyard excluded).

Hence, I don't take my 3DS either. Not just for the mentioned reasons of what's normal where I live, but also because it obviously means there are no streetpasses to get (I actually went against our norm and tried it for several months, going to heavily populated places. 0 streetpasses)

Don't bother around my local area - I gave it a go for a while but I've got a total of 11 streetpasses in the year and a half I've owned it, and I'm sure most of those are demo units (I passed one of them twice as well - I must've only got 4-5 genuine people).

When I went to Japan though, I took it everywhere, because I'd regularly be getting 10 SPs over the course of a morning (and more if I regularly emptied the plaza). Especially around stations.

See, I always took a handheld out as a surrogate music player, with the bonus of being able to play games on it. Granted for the DSLite, that required a little something extra, but I like the idea of not giving Apple money for a music player that is less intuitive than my gaming system. Since the PSP, 3DS and Vita can all play music natively, it is win for me.

I voted A, but really, I take it out mostly for the 10 daily coins. If I get StreetPass hits, that's a nice bonus. Like most other people, though, I usually get them only when I go to the mall or, on rare occasions, when I walk by a local tabletop gaming store.

Where I am, I never got a single streetpass. I take it with me for every other reason (games, music, picture-taking, etc.).

This poll needs more options.
