The game itself is all around objectively no lower then a 7/10. Seriously the replaybillity is extremely high and with the hidden dialogue being a huge bonus. The controls however - Results (422 votes)
Seriously keep it from being anything but decent.

It really is irritating we are still bringing up the controls of this game nearly 6 months later. Kid icarus uprising is a objectively good game with pretty "controversial" control methods. I made this poll so both owners and non owners can voice their opinion on this matter so we can just simply ignore any topic about the games controls after this topic as we can just bring this up "i'm typing on a iphone fyi so spelling might suck or there may be multiple words".

Anyway imho.... The game would be better off on a console or with dual sticks. Now i know half of you are tl:dr ing already but really think about it

1.The controls garnered heavy negative attention by both the media and most likely casual gamers. The controls really take some getting use to and turned away lots of buyers.

2.It is painfully obvious "littearly" that the 3ds was made for eveybody. Little kids included. This thing will dig into your palms if they are "looks at hand" the average size of a african american at the age if 15.

3.lefties (NO the frankenstick isn't a perfect solution it is a after thought that still doesn't provide a more comfortable control scheme.)

4. Combos reduced to combo. Most of the buttons can't even be used making alot of possible design choices (jumping, pit wings actually not being a prop in land battles, ) undoable or to much of a hassle.

5.Stand! Derp.

The controls work pretty well for the game and for those who adapted perfectly the scheme may be perfect. However after over 120 hours and a 98.7% completion my hand still freaking hurts. That shouldn't be happening and i have played over 1000+ matches online as well. I'm not saying the controls sucks by they really make me hate clashing so damn much and leaves alot to be desired.

Blown way out of proportion. And makes me glad I didn't read Gamefaqs message boards back when Metroid Prime Hunters came out. Might have kept me from two great games!

This, including the existence of the stand that many people try to use to justify their claims that it was made due to how Sakurai "knows" that the controls "were bad" in the first place initially before release.

"NP: Was including the stand with Kid Icarus: Uprising always a part of the plan or was it a response to the feedback you received from early demos?

MS: When the N3DS hardware was still in development, we suggested that Nintendo make the charging cradle be usable as a stand. Nintendo decided against that, so even before Kid Icarus: Uprising was in development, we suggested they make a stand that could be used for playing any game, in addition to our own. We kept asking throughout the development process, and Nintendo was kind enough to design one for us."

Otherwise i can admit there can be understandable acceptions with people who cannot get used to the controls.

My only complaint is walking in one level where you can fall off due to wind so you have to run but you don't have enough room to reposition yourself and might accidently run, causing Pit to fall.

Annoyed the heck out of me.

...You need 2 learn to use your right hands 2 be ambidextrous in this world of right-handys otherwise you left-handers will not do good with stuff for right-handers...

I'm left-handed, played with the right-handed configuration, and had no issues other than the dashing mechanic during ground sections being less than intuitive at times -- so I voted for greatly exaggerated.
