Why won't Nintendo announce a Metroid 3DS?

I miss they old days of getting a metroidvania every 8 months or so, why not do so with Metroid itself, just make a ton of side scrolling ones like Fusion and Zero mission, they can't be that hard to do.

If it was easy everyone would be doing it.

There have been longer delays between Metroid games.

Let Retro forget about Metroid and work on another IP. What Metroid needs is some Nintendo EAD love.

EAD isn't even involved with Metroid beyond their general supervisory role.

How about a Descent styled Metroid game where we control Samus´ ship instead? Finding upgrades for it and navigating worlds in all axis. Should be interesting, and a step forward from Prime and Hunters, in my opinion.

If you've been unlucky enough to experience the last three StarFox games, you would know that neither Nintendo nor any company they outsource to knows how to make a game like that.
Not anymore, anyway.

Yeah, and it probably would be too much for a single analog nub device. Descent is best played with a PC Joystick.
