The Cliche with them is mainly my problem, and their usually boring characterization

An example of a character that i liked would be the entire cast of Endless Frontier. Say the sexist stuff as much as you want, but Haken's reaction when put in the EXACT SAME situation as Sephiroth is worth a glorious fanfare

They're just jealous that they're so hideously grotesque and feel like they can't become immersed in the game because they are playing as someone so amazingly different from themselves.

because the villains under this category tend to be the worst characters, which is saying a lot considering all jRPG characters are horribly written one dimensional trash

You know there's a concept of "middleground" right? Characters don't have to be androgynous or the Hulk.

However 'manly' men dress to impress other men, this is why they have such a big preference on what other men should look like. (not in a homosexual manner mind you) They get mad when they see a youthful pretty boy surrounded by hoards of females and think, "WTF!? Why do they like HIM!? He looks like a girl!!1!1!!one"

Their logic seems flawed, since effeminate men generally have a better aesthetic appeal.

I think Japan should just change all the pretty boys to girls when they're localized. Saves me the trouble of guessing the gender of the characters.

I'll save you the trouble right now: if you have to ask, it's a guy.

I complain about them because they've pretty much become the norm. I'm not asking for chiseled, square-jawed manly men in all of my JRPG's, but why not throw me one or two every now and then? There's a lot that can be done there that can involve an interesting dynamic.
