I heard the 3ds had some problems if you buy refurbished. But I only have enough to either buy one new, or buy one refurbished and get a game with it. What do you guys think? Is it worth it to get it cheaper?

Definately new. You dont wanna regret it later. Oh, do yourself a favor and get the XL while you're at it .

What's the difference in the regular and the XL? Besides just being bigger

As for my own opinion, it's that the larger screen provide a higher level of immersiveness. I cant even go back to my 3DS now and it's collecting dust for like months now i'm planning to auction it off soon.

Try both the original and XL, plenty of us have tried both and still liked the original one better. Better PPI, smaller, comes in better colors, looks better.

Does Gamestop allow you to upgrade 3ds to an XL? I kinda want to try out a 3ds first to see if I like it before spending $200.

New, unless you get a long warranty and it's significantly cheaper, but 3DS isn't expensive anyway.
