If a crappy story ruined a game so much most games released on Nintendo platforms wouldn't be fun.
The story was the LEAST of the problems with Other M.

As long as it's back to the 2D formula, I'm in. Sick of FPS' already (not just Metroid).

The funny thing is that a good Metroid isn't even that hard to do. Ditch the long winded talking, give more non-linear exploration in interesting locations and powerups. There, good Metroid game. The series dried up when it started handhelding the players and talking too damn much.

Though, if they do the same job they did with Contra 4 (in recreating a game that's faithful to the franchise), they might just nail it.

Considering that Griptonite approached Sega with a Shinobi demo and Sega went with it, Wayforward could do the same with Metroid or even Mega Man.
