Now that Wii U has Nintendo Network when are us 3DS owner getting the update???

I'm tired of friend codes on the 3ds and of not having an account tied to my 3ds and NOT my 3ds tied to my games.

So when are we getting this Nintendo Network update for 3ds?
I remember hearing we would get it around the same time as wii u.

I don't think we'll get miiverse. At best we'll get the ability to link both online accounts to each other.

I think it was said in some Nintendo Direct that Miiverse would "eventually" come to the 3ds.

Did they say we are getting a Nintendo Network ID? I thought they were sticking to FC with the 3DS.
