Region lock?! Reggie doesn't care!

It's one thing to want to play JP games. It's another to buy a game your console can't play. That's just pretty dumb.

Of course that's assuming she bought it and not borrowed or got as a gift.

The region lock thing isn't so much to stop us from importing Japanese games as it is the other way around - media prices in Japan are generally higher than a US counterpart + shipping to Japan, so they'd be taking a loss if a good chunk of people started importing into Japan. It's just a good business practice.

Exactly right. It's Nintendo of Japan that implements this practice; NoA has no choice but to follow suit and treat it as a good thing.

Right, because the color of a system determines how much fun the games for it are.
Why do I even come to this site anymore? It's like a cess pool of stupid.

You only need to know two things to understand KH: Everyone is Sora, Everything is Xehanort's fault.

then again, it could have been a situation like this:

3ds releases in usa -> Buy console

buy whatever games before pxz was revealed

PxZ was revealed.

decides to import because such a game will never be localized.

agonizes over having to purchase an additional console just to play the import.

"Some people are just stupid."

Or maybe the people that are stupid are the ones who just sit back and let companies continue to screw over consumers more and more, step by step.

Region Lock is just another link in the chain.

Yes,because region locking is so important, right? Only a minority of people even import games to begin with.

And that makes it okay for Nintendo to screw them over, right?

God, the lengths fanboys go to sometimes....

Nintendo are not screwing anybody over and anyway only idiots buy import games then waste hours searching for a guide because they dont know kanji importing japanese games is just a waste of good money if you cannot play the game because you dont know the language. Or are hardcore gamers supposed to know japanese?

Haha yeah

Still don't see how this situation isn't the person being an idiot about buying a game their console doesn't play or an idiot for not doing the research (or for that matter RTFM/Box)

Speaking of doing the research, just researched Namco X Capcom on Amazon. Still available. So no indication Project Cross Zone is going to be super rare in the future either.

Because everywhere else on the internet is a cesspool of stupid too, so you're screwed either way?

Yes, because America is the only place in the world where people would want to import games.

It's not like people in Australia and other regions ever have to wait 6+ months for a game to be released because some stupid company purchases the rights to it and then sits on them. On top of dealing with overinflated prices.

The only 2DS games I ever imported were the Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan games. I wouldn't have imported a whole system just for two games.

Wasn't the whole reason they made Elite Beat Agents because the first Ouendan was such a popular import?
