Region lock?! Reggie doesn't care!

How is it irrelevant when it's supposedly the whole reason everything is region-locked?

Talking about what I said? If so, I would suggest you join IHeartMetroid and re-read my posts. I make it VERY clear that its just a guess on my part.

And LOL at the guy saying copyright laws have no place in the 21st century. Looks like we know someone who would either shamelessly steal others ideas or just wants free stuff.

Go to Gamestop, buy a Steam card, and use it to purchase Ys Origin. You won't be disappointed.

"Some people are just stupid."

Or maybe the people that are stupid are the ones who just sit back and let companies continue to screw over consumers more and more, step by step.

Region Lock is just another link in the chain.

Yes,because region locking is so important, right? Only a minority of people even import games to begin with.

And that makes it okay for Nintendo to screw them over, right?

God, the lengths fanboys go to sometimes....

Only 1% of people import. And they are usually turbonerds xD

I didn't say all copyright laws, just the ones that say you can't watch American TV shows online in the UK, or play Japanese video games in the US.

That is a stupid reasoning. Whether it's 1% or 1000% is irrelevant. If there is no benefit in region-locking, there should be none in the first place. Plain and simple.

1% of people? Nearly 70,000,000 people. That's 3x the number of people who own 3DSes!

Anyway, point is.

Nintendo doing region locking is a bad thing. Yes, this thing that makes them money is a bad thing because we are consumers and our job is not to make Nintendo succeed, but to reap the benefits of everything that they do. What Nintendo is doing is holding back globalization. That is a bad thing. We need to globalize. We need to be able to play games from everywhere, play with people everywhere, and what have you. You may be fine with Nintendo putting you at a disadvantage - and yes you are at a disadvantage because there is no guarantee that you'll be able to play a game that you want to with region lock - but intelligent consumers are not.

Region locking needs to end. Nintendo will have to eat it. I'll cry tears for them as I play the third Rocket Slime game.

Also, regarding importing. Everyone forgets the poor Europeans who don't get certain games, especially when it comes to Atlus games.

There is no strong argument for region locking. It's a bad concept, plain and simple. Anyone arguing otherwise either falls for the claim that it miraculously stops piracy, or haven't opened their eyes to the wealth of great games that aren't localized in their area.
