Is the XL the ideal choice?

I'm more interested in the higher battery life than the bigger screen (not complaining about it though). BUT

I'm not a fan of the color choices. i'd prefer it all black or all white like my DS. i see the regular 3DS has an all black option.

but the XL is an objectively better choice right?

There's an all black one being released soon IIRC. But yeah, objectively speaking the XL is better. A bit less portable, but if you can find a way around that, I'd say go for it.

It's better regarding the battery life, but being the same resolution I don't care about the bigger screen.

I got a midnight purple because the color was awesome, so that was important to me.

I see. I tried to do some research and i'm not sure if the all black color is confirmed or still a rumor.

I was going to get it for christmas, but i may wait a little bit more. maybe on my birthday at the end of january.
