Originally part of the reason was the new Mario Kart, but decided not to buy it after seeing the lack of custom rules for races and battle-mode. I don't understand why they keep it so limited. I loved Mario Kart DS, but always wished there were more options for creating my own rules. Things like deciding who goes where in team races/battles. The colour of my balloons in battle. Creating my own cups and tournaments. Things like that.
Other than that I bought my 3DS because I'm very interested in the new Fire Emblem, Harvest Moon, hopefully a new Pokémon for 3DS, Super Smash Bros. And hoping that there'll ever be a new Yu-Gi-Oh! coming out...
Dream as if you will live forever, live as if you will die today
Really the biggest reason was because I was literally the only kid on the street without one. I mean you couldn't walk past the 3rd closest house without seeing a kid having fun on the system. But if a game is the topic then pretty much the only three games that were out at the time (December 2011) Super Mario 3D Land, Mariokart 7, and Pilotwings Resort. Progress on each game left to right--- 98%, 97%, 82% I got the 1st one December 26th, 2011, the 2nd December 25th, and the last one on February 17th, 2012.I also got my 3DS on December 25th.
My friend had a bunch of good games and was selling them plus the 3DS for $80.00. I couldn't pass that up. He had the system for a year and played it a couple of times. It wasn't as bad as my original DS story. I traded a guy Pokemon Emerald for one. He said he didn't play it, and traded it to me. I get lucky....a lot.
