B2/W2 are so fun, I swear they are the best pokemon game we got for the whole DS age.

and inb4 endgame and his icecream fetish.

HeartGold/SoulSilver both are remakes of gen 2 games. I would start with them.
Poll: (E(:{)) Mario:34 or Kirby:48 (>'-')>
(>'-')>=={#} ...I've got nothing. Just pretend there's something funny here.

Do you need to play b/w 1 to understand it? Has the game mechanics changed since gold/silver?

Pokemon Platinum revived my interest in the series after the Gold/Silver/Crystal days. It's got a lot of content, and a good balance of Pokemon to find during the main game. Pokemon Black & White (2) are good, too, if you're going for online trading, and want to keep up with the new features.

It has changed in the way that stupid people like to b**** about it being to hard to understand ev/iv stuff. They spell it all out in the game and help you with them, if you still don't understand it then something is wrong.

Honestly, the new changes don't really matter much in your actual game playing experience. You'll learn them as you go, and it's very beginner friendly as a series overall.

Go for Black/White first, then Black2/White2. BW2 is the best in the series in a while in my opinion. Lots to do, but it makes a whole lot of reference to BW1

This is truth. The 3DS can play DS games, and one f***ing day, we'll get gba games on the shop as well. It'll be a while til that happens. Hopefully people don't totally lose interest in the shop by then
