Something like a Playstation + for 3DS from Nintendo?

No, 3DS doesn't have a premium program that pretends to give you free games, then takes them away if you stop paying for it.

Spoken like a true Nintendrone. For $18 you get dozens of free retail games that would cost hundreds of dollars normally for 3 months. A lot better than paying $40 for each game and then selling that for 10% of your money back.

The games you get aren't necessarily the games you would wanna buy, assuming you were to instead go out and buy games you actually want to play. I suppose it works for some who prefers no specific genre or title.

Interesting "arguments" in this thread.

Personally, I'd make the comparison of PS+ to Amazon Prime. I've been a prime user for over 5 years, and the 80/year is worth it on shipping alone. Now they've added Prime video/rental and it's just another perk.

Now if you don't frequent Amazon or don't make purchases that would make that 80/year pay for itself, Prime isn't worth it.

PS+'s model is basically the same. They offer storage, protection plan, discounts, etc. plus the perk of free games/month.

If you don't care for the discounts, storage etc PS+ is probably not worth it to you...the games are a nice perk, but if it's games in genre's you don't particularly care for, it'd useless.

...An incomplete list, by the way.

Are we really going to claim that there is a genre skew there? I see racing games, action games, adventure games, strategy games, platform games, role-playing games, extreme sports games, horror games, sandbox games, beat 'em ups, shooters, fighting games, puzzle games, sports games, arcade games... really, I think people need to actually take a closer look at PS+ than they have. As a bonus, in Europe, they just announced several games to be put up on PS+, including LIMBO and Vanquish.

If someone owned most of that list w/o PS+, they probably don't care about savings.
