Like if nintendo ported over zelda wind waker for 3DS, would the graphics look the same as on gamecube? Or would they be dumped down?

There would be some more jaggies, although some effects like lighting and shadows could be better.

Oh, I suppose the closest we have for a decent comparison is probably Luigi's Mansion. The sequel is coming to 3DS. Don't bother comparing direct screenshots though, LM2 looks horrible in screens, but it looks at least on-par with the original in motion.
