No chance of a new model coming anytime soon right?

I've been on the fringe of buying a 3DS since day 1, but seeing that 3DS XL bundle with MK7 and the Best Buy gift card, as well as the upcoming Animal Crossing game have REALLY pushed me into finally wanting to buy one. My question is, there aren't any rumors or anything of an updated system coming out right? Like with a built in second circle pad or anything? I guess I just have that fear that as soon as I finally cave, a better one is right around the corner. >_>

I think that Nintendo will release the N3DS 3rd gen in 2013. If you want to get a 3DS, the 1st gen is better than the XL for various reasons.

No rumors at the moment other than Nintendo releasing handheld updates in a yearly (or so) format like apple does.

Yes, because having tiny screens, less battery life, and being a fingerprint magnet makes for SUCH a better console >.>

They're not releasing a 3DS with a second circle pad, because a second circle pad is unnecessary.

And this, so far Nintendo handhelds are the only ones free from the tyranny of the FPS agenda

Better resolution?
More portable?

Better resolution?

Same resolution, just bigger pixels. It's like buying a 30 inch hdtv and a 40 inch hdtv

More portable?

The extra ~two hours battery life make it more portable for me, since I don't have to bring a charger on my way to/from work. It fits in every pocket that my original 3DS fits in, it's not any less portable on its own either. I don't get what you're trying to say
