Best Dragon Quest NDS game to try out on my 3DS?

#1AXKSIONPosted 12/5/2012 9:36:00 PM
Is there a good Dragon Quest for the NDS? I no longer have a DS, so I need to play it on my 3DS. There are so many DQ games for 3DS, and I don't know which are NA and which are good.

The only DQ game i have played and come close to finishing is DQ8. I got to the last boss, and if I remember right I didn't beat him and I just stopped.

I love JRPGs, not DQ so much but DQ8 was pretty good. Can you recommend me a DQ NDS game to try?

Dragon Quest 9 was my personal favorite.

I played DQ9 a few months ago and it's not one of my favorite games ever.

It is the game that made me re-love RPG's and the game that sparked me going out and buying DQ 4-5, FFTA2 , a PSP + FFT:WotL + Valkyria Chronicles + Jeanne D'arc ....ect....

It's a great game. play it.

I suggest starting with IX.

Jeanne D'Arc is my favorite SRPG ever, even more so than Tactics Ogre. I have gotten pretty far in TO, but I haven't finished it. Valk Chron is excellent.

Anyhow people, I will try DQ9 tonight. Thanks.

The main games are DQIV, DQV, DQVI and DQIX.

DQIV is only partially-translated.
DQIX is more of a single-player MMO.

V or VI would be your best bets; they're both fantastic.

I'm playing VI at the moment and loving it. Really reminds me of the old school Final Fantasy like IV and VI. Tons of content too and the way the story is handled is quite interesting.

Plus the character Carver kicks ass.

I just started DQV and it's pretty decent so far. It's kinda hard to find these days though. I got lucky and found a used copy hiding in the back of the shelf at Best Buy. Been looking for that game forever.

Sig is currently under construction. Deal with it.

After all my stuff got stolen I found a number of the older DQ games in the locked cases at K-Mart. They have the games all lined up so you have to read the spines to see which game each one is, but I've found a number of older HTF games in them.
