is it true that female gamers prefer the normal 3DS over the XL ?

I'm planning to buy a 3ds for my female cousin which will be celebrating her 19th birthday next week. I'm in a dilemma on which model to get as i've seen some female gamers complaining about the XL being too bulky and heavy in numerous forums.

I know that the overall female gamers has smaller hands/palms compared to guys. Oh and i'm not gonna ask her which 1 she prefers cause it's a secret.

Would be nice if there's any female gamers here that are willing to share their opinions. Or anyone else who has a female family member(s) that owns a 3ds.

Thanks.

I'm waiting for Bandai to release the WonderSwan/SwanCrystal II and blow both the Vita and the 3DS away.

I'm a 19 year old girl, and I am just fine with my regular 3DS. Granted, I bought it at launch before the XL even existed, but I've never felt the need to upgrade just for the size difference. I also have relatively small hands, and I've used my brother's DSi XL before and it can get a bit uncomfortable after an extended period of time. That being said, I don't dislike the XL and it's all a matter of personal preference.

I've never played the XL, but I'm fine with the regular model. I do want an XL, though. The regular model is a dust magnet.

Surprised at the level of maturity in this thread thus far.

What? You pooped in the refrigerator? And you ate the whole... wheel of cheese? How'd you do that? Heck, I'm not even mad; that's amazing.

I can't stand the XL's but my mother prefers hers a LOT over her original 3DS. They really don't feel any heavier, but they really are *much* bigger to hold. Not everyone is going to find that comfortable. I know I can't tolerate the difference in pixels. They're so much bigger that that's all I could focus on, just the mass of pixels, not the graphics.

I have both models and my wife has an original 3DS. When the XL came out, I tried to get her to upgrade too, but she just doesn't really care for the XL (because of both the size of the system and the larger pixels).

Funnily enough, I've also been kind of going that way lately. I find myself playing my original more because it feels more comfortable in my hands and the screen has better clarity.

I like the 3DS XL but I did have the 3DS. The bigger screens make a huge difference.
