Why doesn't the 3DS have as many games as the DS did?

And by that I mean games that aren't just remakes that are ported. The DS had a lot of remakes ported to it but it also had far more new titles even if from rehashed series.

Why doesn't the 3DS have as many new games?

It hasn't been out as long.
Also, I would imagine 3DS games would be harder to create due to the 3D element.

It's not as old as DS. Give it time.

Are we looking at the same system here?

So a system that's less than 2 years old is expected to have more games than one nearly 9 years old? Lol

This was just posted by another user in TC's OTHER thread and I feel like TC didn't see it:

I'd get the XL if I was you. Much better value. Anyway, here's a list of some of the games I've bought at one point or another,

Pilotwings
Ocarina of Time
Kingdom Hearts
Devil Survivor Overclocked
Mario Kart 7(wouldn't recommend that. It'll make you RAGE!!!)
Tales of the Abyss
Resident Evil Revelations
The Sims 3(full of glitches, don't waste your time)
The Sims 3 Pets(not as glitchy as the first, but still pretty bad)
Tetris Axis
Style Savvy
Super Mario 3D Land
NSMB2 (not too bad regardless of what people will tell you)
BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2(awesome and overlooked fighter btw)
SSF4
Tekken 3d(stay away at all costs)
Dead or Alive Dimensions(best 3ds fighter I ever played, online's dead though)

Plus there's about 50ish E-shop game's I've got for dirt cheap, so yeah, it's worth it.

Also, in addition to that list:

Harvest Moon: A New Beginning
Rhythm Thief
Thearhythm Final Fantasy
Star Fox 64 3D
Spirit Camera
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Mario Tennis Open
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward

Honestly, I just don't remember more interesting games than this for DS within 2 years...?

It's a secret to everybody.

Hmm, maybe because it was easier to make for DS than 3DS.
