Cause I bought mine for the options listed above but I would have been less tempted to get one if not for Pokemon at some point.

I don't have it yet technically but I'm buying it, first and foremost, for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney and Ace Attorney 5, so I picked third party games.

The main reason for me would be a tie of the first 3 answers. I didn't buy it for any one specific reason.

My PSP was used for MH, Crisis Core and Disgaea, 3ds stole MH so I had to buy one!

I never owned a DS so I have so many games to catch up on as well.

Other: Bought it on a whim.

Bought a DS halfway through it's life, owned a PSP before that. Ended up with 4 each (DS and PSP).
Have had most Nintendo handhelds, but with the 3DS I kinda ignored it. Saw it in store when it came out and just grabbed one.

The promise of Animal Crossing, and a new portable Street Fighter, as Alpha 3 Max on the PSP, while really cool, doesn't control as well as I'd like. Also, it was starting to show its age.

Also Kirby and Dragon Quest. Additionally, I had never played Ocarina of Time, and thought I'd like it. =\

I did not care for my first Zelda game in 3D.
