Why did NIS stop making games for Nintendo?

After Disgaea DS? I mean if it had problem selling maybe it was the quality of the game they put out?

Cave Story 3D doesn't count because they only published that one, not make it.

And of course the small handful of wii games.

Dunno. They went from making games for the systems most sold to making games for the technologically superior systems.

Because they all sold terribly and they're buddy buddy with Sony.

Of all of the games that they've developed/published, only 6 were released on Nintendo systems in the US.

Two were for the Wii, and both were ports/remakes of PS2 games. (Phantom Brave and Sakura Wars)

Three were for the DS, two of which were ports of games that originally appeared on PlayStation consoles. (Rhapsody, PS1; and Disgaea, PS2) The other was a puzzle game developed by KeysFactory. (Puchi Puchi Virus)

One was for the 3DS, but was an enhanced remake of an existing PC game. (Cave Story 3D)

Unfortunately, every single game they've developed has originally been for a PlayStation system.

You forget about A Witch's Tale, because it turned out mediocre after it went back to the drawing board and transformed from ARPG to turn-base?

Yeah, I totally forgot about that one. Doesn't impact my post too greatly, though, since NIS only published it. Hit Maker was the developer on that one.

I really wish the stuff NIS, Gust, Falcom and all these other niche developers would make some more multiplatform releases.

I mean, the only reason I even kept my PS3 was because of the Atelier Arland series by Gust.

Because they made Disgaea for the PS2 and have been reusing that same engine ever since

If those games are the only reason you kept the PS3 you need to branch out more as there are MUCH better RPGs to be then just those on PS3.

lol was pretty sure someone was gonna respond to my post by saying inFamous, Uncharted, LBP and all that other garbage.

Iunno about that man. Tales of Vesperia PS3 isn't in English :P I loved FFXIII and FFXIII-2 too.

I think it's bad enough that there weren't that many awesome console JRPGs this gen since they're all on the DS and PSP.
