DS or GBA? Which handheld do you think was better overall?

DS by far. GBA only had a few memorable titles.

I don't know, I like the DS Lite, it's the first time a clam shell design makes sense for a portable machine (two screens and all), while I didn't like GBA SP's shape. But a hand held should be rated by its library, and I prefer the GBA one. Gunstar Super Heroes and Astro Boy Omega Factor seal the deal for me. Not a big fan of classic RPGs too, but I like the strategy based ones.

I had more fun with the GBA overall, since I largely lost interest in the DS after its first year. However, by 2008/2009 I gave the system a second look and discovered lots of gems I'd overlooked, making me appreciate the handheld much more.

DS.
It may be short on decent fighters and racers, but it had a ton of other cool games made exclusive for the console. I believe its library is superior to what the Wii had, especially its HUGE RPG lineup.

The GBA was and still is a very good handheld console. It's just that there were a lot of ports. Nintendo didn't even bother to create a new Mario platformer for it, only Super NES ports. You'd think Nintendo would have done better...

So close, but Id say the GBA, beacuse without it we wouldnt have the DS, and without the GBA we wouldnt have a lot of the awesome games, if not some of the best games out there. The castlevanias were on both, Megaman zero on both, Battlenet on both, altho I liked the 2D battles better then the first person crap on the last latest installments. GOLDEN FRIKKING SUN, Boktai, Ace is on both, Scruge the HIVE is on both, SUMMON FRIKKING NIGHT, is kinda on both, altho the 1,2,3 on the GBA are my all time favorites, and OFC, THE MINISH CAP, still one of the best Zeldas out there.

Gameboy Advance could play color games such as Pokemon Trading Card game. That automatically beats the DS for me. :X
