Multi platform is good too, but exclusive games on a system means you might buy that system and take advantage of games that can only be played on that system, thus enriching your gaming knowledge (and fun if they're good games). I worded that badly but yes, exclusive games means I'll buy a system to play it on (even if you never wanted to) and find out it has tons of other games that is only playable on that one. More games = more fun for me.

Sure it is. Ports take time and resources away from developing new, original titles. That's bad.
That may be so, but the additional audience created from a port will not only allow more people to enjoy the game, but will expand the company enough that they'll be able to continue working on future projects more easily.
