I take back any defending I did of Rayman Origins on 3DS...

My son plays Rayman Origins on PS3 constantly, so I thought it would be a good idea to buy him the 3DS version for Christmas. I played the demo back when it was released, and while I could see it didn't look as good as the console version, I didn't really see the frame rate and color problems people complained about. Of course, at that point I had yet to play the full version on PS3, so I couldn't compare it. And even if it did have issues, I didn't see how that would effect gameplay.

Well after playing a few hours of the 3DS version for a few hours, I can admit this was just a lazy port. You know something is wrong when a 5 year old notices the game isn't as good as the PS3 version. He can get through most of the earlier levels on PS3 with no help, but on 3DS he kept handing me his system to help him. I don't know why, but the game just feels harder to play.

It doesn't help that the Beautiful hand drawn graphics look washed out and dull.

He still plays the game and enjoys it, but I dread when he asks me to play it...

Its a native 1080p game, should be played in HD.

It got horrible scores. I am surprised you got it still.

MH will have to wait and why do most GameFAQ'ers in the 3DS board have sex with their 3DS?

To be honest I didn't pay much attention to the scores, because I planned to buy the. Vita version once I get one. I got it because I thought my son would like it.

Yeah there are definite frame rate drops at times.

Unfortunatly the 3DS isn't powerfull enough to do this great game justice. Loved it on my Vita as I really feel its the best way to play this type of game.
