The 3DS is far too large to be an effective MP3 player. I can't see why anyone would bother if they had access to any other media device released in the last half decade or so.

So i have a 3ds xl that was with 3 battery bars left. I do like listening to music as i go to bed so I had a 2 hour long DnB mix playing... when I wake up the battery is dead... Explanations?

I didn't even know there was a mp3 player available on the 3ds, I think it would be pointless if it can't play while in sleep mode as the 3ds would take too much space in a pocket this way.

There's no "Yes, but I use my PSP more" option. I don't really have a full MP3 player that I use with any amount of regularity (I have 2 MP3 players, but I don't use them much). When I got my PSP it was more versatile than the little MP3 player I had at the time, so I stuck with my PSP. Even now, it has the grand majority of my music on it. You all would see it as Sad, but I do not.

I only put songs on it to mess around with the speed and pitch of them to make them sound funny.

Sometimes, only when I'm sleeping. I still have a 2nd gen ipod shuffle which I occassionally have trouble adding music to sometimes because Itunes freaking sucks with syncing the thing.

The 3DS is way too big though for doing exercise activities since it has accidentally dropped pretty hard on concrete and it's battery life is rather bad. I'm finding I need another SD card since I can't really fit my music and games all on a 2gb sd card.

I dropped my iPod at work and it exploded, and using my 3DS as a music player gives me greater incentive to bring it more places with me.

A) ...You never noticed the music note icon in the Home Menu?

2) It can play music with the system closed, as long as you have earphones plugged in.
