The 3 screens at either 30 or 60FPS(MK7 is 60fps iirc), is bound to take up a lot of hardware power, and the 3DS is already a rather powerful little unit, looking as nice as the Wii, if not better, however, how much better would it be if it wasn't using 3 sceens?
How much of it's hardware's resources are used producing 3D images?
I'm genuinely curious about this. --- I hate thongs, both kinds.

You should probably go to Nintendo.com and learn more from there. --- PSN: Handsomistic1 3DS: 1263-5501-9059

I'm pretty sure its only "crippled" by 3D when its on, hence why games tend to drop from 60 to 30 FPS. --- PSN/XBL- Nifterific SSF4AE: Balrog, Evil Ryu | UMvC3: C.Viper/Morrigan/Hulk | MK9: Noob Saibot, Cyber Sub-Zero | SFxTK: Ryu/Guile

I recall reading that games are made with 3D in mind and the resources it takes up, 60 to 30 is just a side effect of splitting to 2 images. --- I hate thongs, both kinds.

Doesn't take much actually. I remember reading from a developer that the 3DS has a built in 16mb ram chip dedicated to doubling the image.
Story short, there isn't some magic mumbo jumbo power that makes it render everything twice at the same time. It just duplicates one rendered image.

Not at all. It's easily ignored by keeping it turned off. --- I'm waiting for Bandai to release the WonderSwan/SwanCrystal II and blow both the Vita and the 3DS away.
