Seriously. I walked into a Walmart yesterday and found Angry Birds air fresheners, for heaven's sake.

Milked franchises are usually much worse off in terms of quality. Yes, Ash is still a n00b in the anime. Yes, there's all kinds of merchandise (some of it pretty good). And yes, the TGC isn't as good as many others, though it's still a fun game in its own right. But the games is where it's at, it's the driving force of Pokemon. And that's more than alright.


I agree stopped watching the anime but the games are far better.

Rovio is getting there and undoubtedly copying Game Freak's business model, but fortunately, their games are priced at a reasonable $0.00 - $2.99 per title. And they've also tried to innovate through "spinoff" titles like Bad Piggies, compared to Game Freak which outsources all spinoffs to 3rd party studios.

Doesn't matter. Milked or no, they're popular for a very good reason, even if the TC were destined to entirely miss the point on it.
