Is Pokemon the most milked franchise in the history of gaming?

It's the second most profitable franchise of all time in video game. Take that from what you will but is actually still way less milked than the first one (Mario) and several others( street fighter, a bunch of capcom, etc)

Mario is heavily milked but the milking is pretty much limited to within gaming. You're not going to see Mario Happy Meal Toys on a yearly basis or an annual Mario film in the theatre.

In addition, many games use Mario characters for an easier sale, while the games themselves were developed by third-parties. It's a bit different than a single studio like Game Freak recycling the same formula year after year after year for almost 2 decades.

Here's the thing.

If it is milked, then Pokemon is a good cash cow. I mean, no harm in it, right? We're getting good games out of it.

At least it ain't milked by Capcom. *shudders*

It does, but there is such a thing as too much innovation. I mean, look at Caesar. Dude was ambition overdrive and he got stabbed a dozen times by conspirators.

So which starter are you guys using? I think fennekin looks good but I feel Chespin will end up with the best 3rd stage
