Lost Levels Question

So on the screens that show what level you're on and how many lives you have (the screen with a black background), there's this line from the previous screen's background on the left side of the screen right next to where the black border starts. Does it do this for anyone else?

Boot up the game, kill Mario anywhere, and pay attention to the left side of the screen near the black bar border.

I've actually noticed it on a few other VC games as well. Doesn't bother me though

I'm guessing its from overscan that Nintendo didnt remove from the game though its hardly noticeable due to how small the screen is
