Let's be honest Nintendo's eShop isn't really that good...

-Most of the Ambassador games aren't up for sale.
-Most wanted games like LOZ: Oracle of Ages/Seasons, ALTTP not up there....
-A collection of GBA games not even there.
-Demos have a number of uses before they expire. Never had that with PSN or XBL.
-Things from the eShop disappear ie) Pokedex 3D, not the pro one, 3DS videos/previews, even the old ones disappear.... which is sad if you want to redownload them.
-Don't get me started on Nintendo Video, if you missed out on videos like Kirby 3D there is no chance to rewatch them...
-Games bought in the marketplace are taxed. You can get taxed twice for purchasing the card at the store and again for downloading it. Never had that issue with xbox points card.

Nintendo cannot live up to PSN, Xbox Live, Steam, or the App Store.
Things disappear frequently and it's just unreliable.

Nintendo is mostly likely going to respond with "oh it is a strategic marketing deployment", please don't BS me. If consumers have money, a sense for nostalgia make that stuff available or else I'm gonna spend my money on other things, probably things not from Nintendo. And these games are old and wants to be revisited from fans. Why not offer these games early for fans of the 3DS. It's kinda dead to be honest. And the Pokemon news is the only glorifying thing so far.

Is it just me or is Nintendo missing out on oppertunities here and angering fans.

If I had to rate Nintendo's service, it's very bad atm.

Another eShop complaint topic.

And a valid one at that!.

I love the 3DS eShop and generally like it more then every other shop I've used on a dedicated game system.

I just got off of my PS3, after downloading Mega Mans 9 and 10 for no cost. I also have to play on my PS3, for no charge beyond $50 a year:

Just Cause 2
inFAMOUS 2
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game
Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition
Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition
Saints Row 2
Castlevania Chronicles

And plenty more.

I also participated in betas for Journey, LittleBigPlanet Karting, and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. And besides all that, PS+ users get a better discount on games than regular PSN users - but on the same note, anyone who has access to PSN can participate in these regular discounts. Not just a summer discount.

I really started buying e-shop games this year. It has a nice selection. Comparing it to other online shops though...it's ****ing awful. There needs to be at least twice as many games available at cheaper prices. Anything $29.99 or over should really be $10 cheaper, and the account system that was promised to be put in effect later this year should be put in effect early this year.

This won't happen though, and $$$ will still be made.

Fire Emblem Awakening should repeat what Kid Icarus did and maybe start the whole GBA games on eShop.

That would make to much sense for nintendo.

I only bought one thing off the eShop and that's Pokedex 3D Pro. Bought a $20 3DS gift card. That $20 was not enough to get Dream Radar... really lame to be honest.

Then I found out there's Pokedex iOS (official liscenced product going for $1.99)....

sigh.... but I guess I pay extra for 3D?

Hey that guy said he likes something revolving around Nintendo, let me go talk about Sony related stuff.

I'm really loving these new movies I got for free.... by paying for Netflix.

The issue is you buying that to begin with.

...And paying taxes (j/k).

He said that he preferred the eShop to PSN. If you prefer the service, not the games, then you prefer a lack of discounts, less varied releases, fewer quality releases (the eShop receives far more shovelware than even WiiWare), limited demos, a worse design for the storefront, etc.

And yes, that's a fantastic way to put it. It's like Netflix. And eShop is like a movie rental joint around the corner. The eShop is more expensive to rent at, the eShop has less selection, the eShop isn't open 24/7. PSN? I can rent whenever and nearly whatever I want.

Except that this comparison has a Netflix that sells games at a rather large discount, invites you to betas, gives you 1GB online cloud storage for your saves, and automatically updates your games. The difference between the services is night and day. Without PS+, PSN is still leagues ahead. I'm paying only $50 a year for PS+, compared to more than $100 a year for Netflix. And I'm getting hundreds of dollars worth of games out of it, that I might never have played.

I have plus since they announced the instant game collection, back in the E3, you know how many game I have finished from that "free" list? None, and Im not talking about your list, Im talking about the whole Instant Game Colection list...

And you know how many games that i bought I have finished in the same period of time? More than 30

I know is just my case, but PS+ is just random rentals, I dont plan to get it again after my 12 months expire....

I have used many discounts, but again, Im paying to get discounts, I dont think I have saved the $50 I used for the 12 months os plus yet...
