For people complaining about the predictable plot in mario games

#1SpaceDesperadoPosted 1/11/2013 10:05:08 PM(edited)
I keep hearing the same argument that 'oh well how come mario and princess peach never properly prepare themeselves for bowser, who once again goes after princess peach... it just makes no sense given the amount of times bowser captured princess peach'

let me ask you something, have you ever heard of biased protagonist perspectives? we are playing from mario's point of view, a guy who still has a mustache and eats mushrooms to revitalize himself to continue on his 'journey'.

it's mario who keeps kidnapping peach over and over again, who is perfectly fine and contempt being with bowser, she even uses her wealth to build elaborate mazes, dungeons, and traps to help bowser out with the security of her well being. what else would explain peach being by bowser's side numerous times whilst nothing fatal ever happening to her and no ulterior motives from bowser such as reaching out to the mushroom kingdom asking for a large amount of money in exchange for princess peach?

in fact it's mario who's the one beating up on citizens and breaking cache's for gold.

why does the game end abruptly after princess peach is rescued? mario just uses her as his slave afterwards in numerous ways is why

tl;dr mario is basically a schizophrenic or a troubling addict looking to take the easy route for gold and a women to use for his own personal benefits

Eh, you shouldn't even care about those complaints. I mean, every damn game is the same:

Kill a lot of minorities. Kill a lot of terrorists. Kill a lot of aliens. Kill a lot of zombies. Kill a lot of demons. Kill a lot of nazis. Kill a lot of (...)

All of the above mostly surrounded by an ancient artifact, ancient prophecy, ancient race, ancient technology, ancient nations at war (...)

If it's western, add lackluster art with realism. If it's asian, add excessive drama.

And there you have it.

from mario's perspective those 'invites' and 'mails' are in reality the numerous warnings and restraining orders he receives from bowser and princess peach

why would princess peach ask this lone plumber to rescue her instead of properly trained bodyguards or soldiers from her kingdom? she must have an allegiance of people willing to sacrifice themselves for their princess if she was actually kidnapped by bowser.

surely she would've created an immediate response to bowser's numerous kidnappings, but no apprarently she relies on some plumber and sometimes his coward brother to come save her, yeah right... and why does no one else from the mushroom kingdom aid mario in rescuing her then?

don't even get me started on the only person who actually does aid him, toad, he's the supplier and could possibly be the ultimate culprit for mario's actions. always managing to aid him into different areas for finding his fix of mushrooms and coins which he can give back to toad for even more mushrooms and 'enhancements'.

after mario's done his deed in a particular area, toad just replies with 'nah man she ain't here, but good job grabbing those mushrooms and coins, we need whatever we can for our own benefit as well as making things easier to capture her when we eventually find her'... or something to that affect.

if it's not his own mushroom hallucinations about the contents of the letters, then it's probably the fact mario might not be able to read and it's toad who tells him those lies about the mails and invites, poor mario caught in a vicious cycle from the get go.

ever hear of most of the paper mario games where multiple people aid him in rescuing?
also it could be regular mushrooms that don't cause hallucinations. I mean they fuel your body aka heal you o_o

Maybe its the mushrooms mario eats that makes him forget everything.
