So for whatever reason, my 3DS charging cord decided that a piece of the cord that plugs into the 3DS itself would fall out (I'm assuming). So now, it is nearly impossible to get it to charge. Way to last all of one month with your products, Nintendo. :v

Oh wow. I have no idea how that could happen. I still have a Phat DS charger I use for my SP.

Certainly the first time I've seen it happen.

Happened with my DS Phat. It happens if you carry around everywhere and possibly get some moistures on it. Tough luck really, but it happens with all charging ports (though rarely). Nintendo probably didn't wanna invest on the covers that phones usually have because the chance of this happening is pretty miniscule. Not worth the effort.

No, the cord, not the 3DS cord spot itself.

If you only bought it less than a month ago then you can still exchange it for another one (depending on where you bought it). And since you bought it last month then you would probably have even longer because of Christmas.

Not right now, no; roads are too bad to be driving on right now. Plus, $10 is a big deal.
